Big Muddy Series
This historic
region of Saskatchewan has been home to our settlers,
ranchers, cowboys and outlaws. Traveled by explorers, buffalo
hunters and fur traders, much of the landscape remains as it
was in the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Folklore and documented history indicates the region of Big
Muddy Badlands was frequented by the Lakota, Sitting Bull and
initial detachments of the Northwest Mounted Police.
Saskatchewan’s Centennial prompted the creation of the work
titled ‘Big Muddy Storm’. Inspired by the raw beauty of the
area, I have created this series of artwork for your
enjoyment.
